First is a graphical presentation showing the types of allergens present and their concentration. This graph is in color so that a quick look will tell you if you have any allergen spores in high concentrations. The second is a statement of the total allergen count and a statement as to the relative values – low, moderate, high and extremely high. The third is a table showing the same information with the name of the allergen type and the total allergen counts for each. Following all of that is several paragraphs interpreting this information with suggestions on dealing with any problem that may be indicated. At the end is a resource guide for following up on a specific problem with a Allergy professional
A sample of the allergen Laboratory Report is provided. The report provides the data in 3 forms for best possible utilization of the information.
About Allergens
It is estimated that up to 50 million Americans are affected by allergies each year, with 11 million of these experiencing asthmatic symptoms. This accounts for approximately 16.7 million doctor office visits and $18 billion in medical expenses every year.
Allergens consist of chemical or biological substances that produce an allergic response in some individuals. Common outdoor allergens include pollen and dust, while some of the most common indoor allergens are produced from pets, dust mites, and cockroaches, which are found throughout the United States in almost every household. Unfortunately, most vacuum cleaners do not rid your home of these irritants; but rather they spread them into the air and throughout the house.
As the average American spends more than 90 percent of their time indoors with 65 percent of that time at home, Allergy Chek is designed to test for the most common indoor allergens, and does not include the outdoor allergens.

When to Test for Allergens
Allergy Chek can be used at any time and in any environment. Use Allergy Chek to determine the cause of allergic symptoms in your present home or help make your decision when moving to a new location. Since many indoor allergens cannot be removed with the standard vacuum cleaner, Allergy Chek can give you a better idea of the condition of the environment in which you will be living or working.
Recommended times to use Allergy Chek™ are:
1. "The device sat in the hot car for two days, not in the direct sun though. Will that affect the result?"
The heat to that degree should not affect the Allergy spore count to any degree at all. We will proceed with your sample and forward the report to you ASAP.
2. "If the test is supposed to give a volumetric result as to the amount of an allergen present, does it matter how long we ran the vacuum? If we ran the vacuum for six to ten minutes and the next person only does it for one minute, how can you give a volumetric estimate as to the amount of allergen present?"
Air samples are based on volume, whereas "dust samples" are based on weight. Therefore each sample is reported in spores per gram of dust. What is really important to a person having this test run, is what that means. As you will see from the report, when you receive it, you will get actually 3 report segments. The first is a graph in green, yellow, orange and red depicting the number of spores relative to usual levels. Then you will see a Table with that same data. Both have the allergen names and types. Then, you will have an interpretive paragraph that tells you what all that means. The report, as you will see, is produced in full color and is 3-4 pages
