Return Policy

DUE TO SECURITY, PACKAGES &/or PARCELS WITHOUT PROPER APPROVAL & ROUTING CODE WILL BE REFUSED & RETURNED TO SENDER.

InspectUSA cares about your shopping experience and we want you to be satisfied with your purchases. Given the nature of the products we sell, we must specify the following policies regarding any dissatisfaction with products purchased from InspectUSA.com. Please read these terms carefully.

Everyone is aware of the very real hazards of identify theft and credit card fraud. Both as a business and as consumers ourselves, the InspectUSA team works diligently to maintain the safety and security of your on-line shopping experience. However, there is another type of fraud against which InspectUSA.com must also fight; purchase fraud. What is purchase fraud? When someone buys a meter, tool or even a test kit, uses it to satisfy their issue and tries to return it for a full refund by claiming it was defective or some other excuse. This type of fraud is costly and causes on-line and conventional stores to devise strict policies for the return of merchandise. Fortunately, these occurrences happen rarely but often enough for us to be vigilant to this kind of theft.

InspectUSA.com has a diverse and professional user community, for which we are grateful. When you have a legitimate reason for returning merchandise, we ask for your patience as we process your request and work to resolve your issue. The Return Policy terms change periodically so please be sure to check this page when you have a question.
  • Sales are deemed final with exceptions listed below.
  • Returns must be made according to the Return Request Procedures stated below.
  • Customers who return merchandise according to the return policy will receive store credit that may be applied to future purchases.
  • InspectUSA does not provide refunds for any reason.
  • Unless otherwise stated, product manufacturers are solely responsible for the product warranties. Please refer to your Product Manual for contact info and instructions.
  • Sales of test kits, light bulbs, aerosol products and batteries of any type are final and no returns or credits are provided.
  • Certain types of test kits are sold with a Chain of Custody. Once a test kit is handled to our shipper the customer is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Chain of Custody.
  • Any merchandise that has been altered, is missing parts or is damaged is not returnable.
  • The customer is responsible for promptly sending test kits, such as radon or mold, to the lab for processing.
  • ALL SALES ARE FINAL 3 DAYS AFTER RECEIPT.

Order Cancellation Policy

On-line orders are processed by credit card companies immediately. If you want to cancel an order you have placed at InspectUSA.com please notify our Sales Department as soon as possible. Order cancellation terms are as follows:
  • Orders canceled before the merchandise has shipped for which you want a credit to your card account are subject to a penalty fee of 6% of the sale or $15, whichever is greater.
  • Orders canceled before the merchandise has shipped will not be subject to a penalty if you accept a store credit for the full amount of the sale.
  • Orders canceled after the merchandise has shipped are subject to the Return Request Procedures shown below.
Please note that store credits have no expiration date and are transferable.

Defective Merchandise Policy

Merchandise purchased from InspectUSA.com that is defective upon receipt may be returned to the manufacturer for repair or replacement within the warranty period for the particular product. Please contact the appropriate manufacturer directly with questions about a product warranty. If the manufacturer does not respond within 48 hours of your request for support, please notify us Returns at InspectUSA.com. Include the order number, date of the sale, product information and a brief description of the issue. (See Return Request Procedures below.)

Manufacturer Warranties Do Not Cover The Following Items:
  • Cost of shipping the product back to the manufacturer and/or InspectUSA.
  • Normal wear, scratches or fading of product.
  • Damage caused by abuse, misuse, tampering with the product including the removal of the back cover.
  • Damage caused by failure to follow installation and use directions found in the manual.
  • Consequential damages, incidental damages or expenses, including damages to property and personal injury.

Items Damaged During Shipment

If you receive damaged merchandise, please notify the shipping carrier immediately upon receipt of the product to report the damage and file a claim.

Returns of Meters, Test Equipment and Tools

InspectUSA.com does not sell used or returned merchandise. Therefore, requests to return or exchange meters, testing equipment, electronics and tools purchased from InspectUSA.com are made on a case-by-case basis according to the following procedures:

Return of UNOPENED Merchandise Procedures

  • Requests must be made by eMail to Returns at InspectUSA.com
  • Requests must be received by our Sales Department within 3 days of receipt of the meter.
  • The request will be evaluated and a response will be provided within 2 business days.
  • No returns of merchandise will be accepted without prior written authorization from InspectUSA.
  • Accepted returns of unopened merchandise are subject to a processing fee plus an 18% restocking charge or $8.95, whichever is greater.
  • Shipping costs to return the product to InspectUSA are paid by the customer.
  • The customer will receive a store credit for the remaining balance.
  • Returned merchandise must be received at our warehouse within 7 days of you receiving written authorization for the return or the sale will be declared final and no credit will be issued.
  • The Return Request Procedures shown below must be followed.

Return of OPENED Merchandise Procedures

  • Requests must be made by eMail to Returns at InspectUSA.com
  • Requests must be received by our Sales Department within 3 days of receipt of the meter.
  • The request will be evaluated and a response will be provided within 2 business days.
  • No returns of merchandise will be accepted without prior written authorization from InspectUSA.
  • Accepted returns of opened merchandise are subject to a processing fee plus a 33% restocking charge.
  • Shipping costs to return the product to InspectUSA are paid by the customer.
  • The customer will receive a store credit for the remaining balance.
  • Returned merchandise must be received at our warehouse within 7 days of you receiving written authorization for the return or the sale will be declared final and no credit will be issued.
  • The Return Request Procedures shown below must be followed.
Please Note: We will try to accommodate your desires in a manner beneficial to both of us. However, if a disagreement arises, canceling the charge with your credit card company and not returning the merchandise in new condition to us is theft and we will pursue vigorous action to the full extent of the law.

Wrong Merchandise

In the event a customer is sent the wrong merchandise, InspectUSA will pay for all shipping costs associated with the shipment of the correct merchandise to the customer's location and the return of the incorrect merchandise back to our warehouse. If the incorrect merchandise is not received by InspectUSA within the prearranged specified time period or is damaged or missing parts, the customer will be charged the full retail price of the merchandise.

Return Request Procedures

Please make sure to contact customer service at Returns at InspectUSA.com BEFORE returning an item to us to receive explicit instructions and a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returned packages must contain an RA number to be considered authorized. Our Shipping and Receiving Department will not accept unauthorized packages. Please include a note inside the package containing the following information:
  • Order Number
  • Your Name
  • Company Name (if applicable)
  • Model Number of Item(s) to be Returned
  • Condition of the Items to be Returned
  • Complete or Missing Pieces & Parts
  • Undamaged or Damaged
  • Reason for Return Request
Return Procedures are as follows:
  • You will receive a "ship to" address when the RA number is issued.
  • The goods associated with this RA number must be post marked within 7 days of the RA number being issued.
  • The RA number should be clearly marked on the SHIPPING LABEL of the package.
  • Do not write the RA number directly on the container - ONLY ON THE SHIPPING LABEL.
  • Please include a copy of the eMail correspondence between you and InspectUSA Customer Service.
  • InspectUSA is not responsible for items that do not arrive at our warehouse therefore, we strongly suggest packages be insured and shipped in a way that provides tracking and proof of delivery.
  • Items received at our warehouse may take 3 to 5 business days to be processed.
  • Your InspectUSA.com account will be credited within 5 to 7 business days after returned merchandise has been processed.
Please Note: InspectUSA is unable to issue a credit for any shipping costs associated with the delivery and/or the return of any items.
