Smoke Centurion Smoke Detector Tester

Smoke Centurion ™ by SDI Fire is a new aerosol smoke detector tester designed to test the widest possible range of smoke detectors. It efficiently tests the functionality of smoke detectors without any dangerous flames or fumes. It can be used hand-held or with the use of an enclosed delivery dispenser offering flexibility and on-site convenience. The canned smoke is silicone free and reduces the risk of any damage or contamination to the smoke detector during testing. Smoke Centurion is an environmentally responsible choice as an ozone-safe product with a low global warming potential propellant.

Please Note: Pressing the "test button" on a smoke detector tests battery strength only. The test button cannot be used to verify the smoke detector's ability to activate its alarm in the presence of smoke caused by a fire. Please Note: If the smoke detectors being tested are part of a centrally monitored alarm system, please notify the monitoring company PRIOR to testing that a test is scheduled and for what period to prevent the local Fire Department from being unnecessarily deployed.

Instructions for hand-held testing:

• Clean smoke detector by using DustAir ™ Smoke Detector Cleaner or use a clean cloth to remove dust.
• Press test button to check the battery.
• Shake can well before use.
• Hold can upright and spray at detector from 12 to 40 inches distance.
• Spray for 0.5 to 1 second, repeating every 10 seconds for no more than 1 minute until detector is activated.
• If detector fails to respond it may be faulty.

Dispenser Use:

• Clean smoke detector by using DustAir ™ Smoke Detector Cleaner or use a clean cloth to remove dust.
• Press test button to check the battery.
• Shake can well before use.
• Insert can into Solo smoke dispenser, lock into place using screw mechanism and place dispenser cup over detector.
• Discharge spray by pressing upward.
• Spray for 0.5 to 1 second repeating every 10 seconds (holding cup in place) for no more than 1 minute until detector is activated.
• If detector fails to respond it may be faulty.
