WBGT (wet-bulb globe temperature) was developed as a monitoring basis at US military training camps and became widespread for the use in workplaces and sports training facilities all over the world. It is suggested in the international standard ISO 7243, OSHA (US Occupation Safety), Japan Society for Occupational Health and the SMA (Sports Medicine Australia) in establishing the permissible heat exposure limits in health, sports or other physical activities.

  • DP: Dew point temperature.
• Adjustable WBGT alarm setting (when the WBGT value is over the alarm threshold, the buzzer will sound along with a flashing display).
• Use to control and monitor physical activity in hot environments to limit the danger of heat related injuries.
• Threaded tripod mount.

• Wet bulb temperature range: -6.9° to 122.0°F (-21.6° to 50.0°C) with 0.1° resolution.
  Wet Bulb Temperature is calculated automatically from Humidity and Air Temperature.
• WBGT formula:
  • Outdoor and no sun: WBGT = (0.7 x WB) + ( 0.3 x TG) globe Temperature.
  • Outdoor and full sun: WBGT = (0.7 x WB) + (0.2 x TG) + (0.1 x TA).
• Sampling time: approximately 1 second.
• Operating Temperature: 32° F to 122° F (0° to 50° C).
  NOTE most batteries are not rated for below -4° F or above 125° F.
